Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

**Summary of Position**
Responsible for all food and beverage production and services for the Club. Hires, trains, and supervises subordinates. Helps plan, and oversee all member events, parties, and weddings.
**Job Tasks**
- Assures that practical orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced team are planned and implemented.
- Helps plan and coordinate external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities for the food and beverage department with the Communications Administrator.
- Monitors bar inventory, purchasing, and receiving procedures for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, quality, and price for all purchases.
- Reviews all menu items, including food preparation, presentation, and pricing proposed by the Executive Chef for all dining areas, special events and banquet events with G.M. and A.G.M approval.
- Consults and works daily with the executive chef, A.G.M, dining room managers, Lead Bartender, front desk personnel and other applicable club administrators to help assure the highest level of member satisfaction.
- Prints necessary menus for daily services, and private parties.
- Helps book entertainment, décor, flower arrangements, and linen orders.
- Helps A.G.M plan all private member parties and Holiday events. Works and helps coordinate all special club events with the entertainment committee.
- Participates in daily facility inspections throughout the Club to ensure that cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and other standards are consistently attained.
- Assist with service of food and beverage outlets and for specials functions as needed.
- Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all beverage equipment and facilities.
- Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures.
- Helps maintain the reservations system, takes reservations, and checks table reservation schedules.
- Provide layout and design recommendations for private parties & member events.
- Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverage, and service.
- Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and safety of dining room areas, equipment and fixtures.
- Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns
- Makes suggestions about improvements in dining room service procedures and layout
- Assures that the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day
- Maintains an inventory of dining room items including silverware, coffee pots, water pitchers, salt and pepper holders, sugar bowls and linen and ensures that they are properly stored and accounted for.
- Engages in strategic planning with G.M. and A.G.M to assure member satisfaction.
Reports to: General Manager & Assistant General Manager
**Licenses and Special Requirements**
High understanding of club software systems (Club Essentials preferred)
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
Education and Experience: Hospitality degree from four-year college or university a plus, industry related experience welcomed as well.
Five years of private club experience or equivalent in hospitality operation.
