***: Directs the overall management and coordination of all property departments to achieve the company’s quality service and profit objectives. Ensures a congenial atmosphere in which employees can perform to the best of their ability. Integrates and markets property’s product and services within the community in which it is located,
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Establishes short-term and long-range plans to achieve overall profit and growth objectives.
- Remains current on business trends and local activities and responds to the same.
- Prepares annual budgets for all departments and assures that all supervisors operate within their approved budget.
- Reviews actual hotel performance against budgeted performance and prepares budget variance form explaining budget deviations. Directs appropriate actions to correct unsatisfactory areas.
- Maintains compliance with company policies, practices, procedures, and safety standards.
- Monitors, on a daily basis, the staffing, operations, and appearance of all areas of responsibilities.
- Conduct monthly staff meetings.
- Confers, cooperates, communicates with immediate supervisors to resolve operating problems and ensures coordination of property activities.
- Selects, trains, evaluates and motivates subordinate supervisors and employees.
- Provides guidance and direction to subordinate supervisors and employees.
- Reviews and approves personnel recommendations of subordinate supervisors in compliance with established realm of authority.
- Implements training programs for all personnel and assures that on-going training is provided.
- Initiates personnel actions, including employee counseling sessions, reprimands, performance appraisals, and terminations.
- Reviews all customer complaints and disseminates complaints to appropriate departments for corrective actions.
- Reviews all purchase orders, authorizing expenditures in compliance with established realm of authority.
- Obtains quotes and bids for purchase purposes and recommends capital expenditures.
- Reviews and analyzes inventory reports to evaluate control methods and direct initiations of corrective measures.
- Reports to the Regional Director of Operations significant results, problems, and personnel action regarding subordinate managers.
- Establishes relationships with community leaders along with membership in civic organizations.
- Ensures implementation of marketing programs.
- Checks and records pertinent comments into Front Desk Log.
- Executes other associated responsibilities as directed by the Regional Director of Operations.
- To be familiar with the competition, their rates, amenities, promotional programs, etc.
- Review night audits and notes any discrepancies. Makes deposits to bank on a daily basis.
- Reviews all open accounts and current balances, follow ups on overdue payments.
- Approves all invoices, prepares payroll, and submits reports and correspondence to corporate on a timely basis.
- Grooms his/herself to set an example for employees and to meet the business image of the property.
- Attends and participates in General Manager Meetings to obtain information and direction to be implemented on the property.
- Overall responsible for the safekeeping of revenues, whether they be cash, credit card transactions, petty cash or accounts receivables.
