Under the direction of the Configuration Supervisor, Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II), the Information Technology Specialist (ITS I) functions as a development and testing expert for software configuration activities requested by DCA clients. This position is in the Software Engineering domain.

Develop technical detail configuration specifications. Develop complex software configuration maintenance and enhancement change requests. Write complex development design specifications and the logical data model for each detailed design specification. Configure and develop systems and workflow operations in a wide range of technologies.

Develop manual and automated unit, component, regression, and functional system test scripts. Facilitate system and user acceptance testing. Review reported system defects to determine root cause and identify potential resolutions.

Manage initial triage activities for IT system defect/enhancement/change requests. Work with staff to determine system defect and enhancement assignments and priorities for IT systems. Manage activities associated with IT Releases for mid and long-range planning.

Working Conditions
- The incumbent is a Work Week Group E employee and is expected to work an average of 40 hours per week each year and may be required to work specified hours based on the business needs of the office. The incumbent must constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine. The incumbent must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The incumbent may be required to perform duties at local client sites as required and at any DCA's statewide field sites as scheduled in advance. A remote-centered (telework) flexible schedule may be available for this position. The position is located in headquarters in Sacramento, CA. The incumbent is required to travel throughout an assigned geographical area by various methods of transportation.
- This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Office of Information Services (OIS) and based on the current telework policy. While the OIS supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with mínimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.
