Patient Registration/front Office

Front Desk Job Description:
- Patient Reception and Check-In: Greeting patients as they arrive, verifying their identity, and checking them in for their appointments. This often involves confirming personal information and ensuring that all necessary forms are completed.
- Appointment Scheduling and Management: Managing the surgical center's appointment schedule, which includes booking, rescheduling, and canceling appointments as needed. This also involves coordinating with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Medical Records Management: Maintaining and updating patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. This often involves using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Insurance Verification and Billing Support: Verifying patient insurance details, explaining coverage to patients, and assisting with billing inquiries. This may also include coordinating with the billing department for claims processing.
- General Administrative Duties: Performing general clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, faxing, and handling mail. This role often requires maintaining a clean and organized front desk area.
- Patient Communication and Support: Providing patients with information about their procedures, answering general questions, and offering support and guidance, especially in terms of pre-and post-operative instructions.
- Liaising with Medical Staff: Coordinating with doctors, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure effective communication and patient care.
- Supply Management: Keeping track of office supplies and medical forms and ordering new supplies as needed.
- Compliance with Healthcare Regulations: Understanding and adhering to healthcare laws and regulations, including patient privacy laws like HIPAA.
- These responsibilities require excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, a patient and professional demeanor, and basic computer proficiency. Experience with medical software and an understanding of medical terminology are often preferred.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
