**Book Soup Supervisor**

A unique opportunity to work at legendary independent bookstore, Book Soup, located in West Hollywood, California.

Located on Los Angeles’ famous Sunset Strip, Book Soup has been the “Bookseller to the Great & Infamous” since 1975. Owned by another independent bookstore, Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena (Southern California’s Oldest & Largest Independent Bookstore).

Then Book Soup invites you to become part of our team as Book Soup’s Supervisor This is a leadership role with the ability to build and maintain a strong team, strong work environment and strong customer service and sales foundation. This position manages the day-to-day operations of Book Soup and is directly responsible for supervising its staff. This position reports directly to the Store Manager. Supervisor should possess strong multi-tasking skills, excellent oral communication skills and the ability to perform consistently, even under pressure.

**Job Requirements**:

- Include but are not limited to the following:_
- Assisting with the training, supervision, development, and evaluation of all BKS staff.
- Assisting with setting up daily schedule.
- Delegating and prioritizing tasks, managing work flow and ensuring excellent customer service on the sales floor.
- Communicating ideas to improve specific systems, or the store as a whole, to the Store Manager
- Coordinating monthly on-hand checks and returns with the rest of the management team.
- Opening and closing the store.
- Coordinating with promotions team as needed.
- Assisting with display and monitoring of all store book and non-book merchandise maintenance.
- Shelving and maintaining books in assigned sections.
- Hand-selling books and non-book merchandise
- Answering customer phone calls, taking special orders for customers.
- Processing internet orders.
- Ringing customers at cash register.
- Assisting with daily transfers.
- Attending and participating in management and staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Responsibilities**:

- Include but are not limited to the following:_
- Assist with preparation for yearly store inventory.
- Assist the set-up of the Holiday Shop/Annual Tentless Sale and other in store events as needed.
- Issue corrective actions when needed.
- Able to hold employees accountable.
- Must be flexible/adaptable and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Perform all job-related functions in a cordial friendly manner, committed to exceeding Customers' expectations.

**Pay Rate**:

- $19.33 per hour
- 32-40 hours per week
- Non-exempt
- Hourly

**Schedule**:

- Occasional additional hours may be required according to operational needs.
- Monday through Sunday.
- Requires full availability for any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
