Director of Accounting

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Implement monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP.
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Tracking and forecasting cash flow.
- Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
- Preparing financial analyses and reports.
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Assisting with annual audit preparations.
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
- Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations.
- Working with the company financial team to create and maintain internal controls and policies.
- Manage current accounting staff with the goal to build a top talent Accounting team including hiring, training and mentoring the staff.

- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively not only with the Accounting team, but across the entire organization including but not limited to the Project Management, Procurement, Warehouse and execute leadership team.
- Someone who takes ownership of their tasks and the ability to work comfortably without clearly defined processes or direction.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize workload independently and for the team.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and rectify discrepancies.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 8+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong computer skills including advanced Excel.

**Other Preferred Skills**:

- Experience in a job cost/construction business.
- Experience working in a rapidly growing environment.
- Experience working with outside investors.
- CPA credentials.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Participated in a new ERP system setup or conversion.
