This position is located in the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, Division of Early Learning, Early Childhood Intervention. The incumbent is assigned to the District of Columbia Early Intervention Program for Infants and Toddlers with Development Delays, which is federally funded under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C, P.L. 101-110, as amended. The program is responsible for implementation of a state-wide system of coordinated interdisciplinary, interagency programs to ensure the provision of appropriate early intervention services to infants and toddlers with delays or disabilities who meet the District of Columbia definition of "developmental delay" and their families. This is called the "Part C" System.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

The incumbent performs professional work designed to provide a range of developmental services to families of infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities. Work involves developmental evaluations and assessments, intervention, and consultation with family members and other professionals/ agencies working with the family for children with varying degrees of developmental disabilities. Works in conjunction with the Clinical Manager to implement the clinical operations of the program including the Natural Learning Environment Framework. Attends and participates in staff meetings. Participates on work groups aimed at improving practices or procedures and/or promoting learning and wellness in the workplace and in outreach activities.

Completes eligibility evaluations for infants and toddlers in the program. Provides updated assessments for on-going clients. Participates as member of an interdisciplinary evaluation team to determine eligibility for services. Participates in the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) in conjunction with the service coordinator and the family. Assists in determining family priorities, resources and concerns. Develops IFSP strategies and goals aimed at attainment of the family’s outcomes. Participates in team meetings to support a collaborative approach to the development of each infant and toddler. Collaborates with service coordinators for provision of quality services for infant and toddlers. Participate in person at all IFSP reviews for assigned children.

At least one (1) year of experience with interventions for children birth to three years of age is preferred.

Master’s degree in early childhood special education or special education is highly desired but not required.

**Working Conditions/Environment**

Work is performed partially in an office environment and partially in the child’s natural environment such as home, child development centers, and community. The employee is required to work in all areas of the city, some of which are known to be high crime areas.

**Salary**: $80,784 - $103,333

This is a grant funded position. Continued employment will be contingent upon available funding.
