Lawrence E. Boone Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for our Washington, DC location. The Paraprofessional will assist in the daily operations of the Special Education Department, including:
- Assisting with the implementation of a comprehensive program of instruction for students with autism and related disorders;
- Assisting in the implementation of a comprehensive program of instruction for students with special needs;
- Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized, comprehensive intervention plans for students with special needs;
- Implementing and monitoring student progress and performance;
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with teachers, other staff members, parents, and community agencies;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Associate’s degree or Parapro Assessment required.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in a school setting required.
- Must be able to work independently and take responsibility for self.
- Must have good communication skills and must be able to write well.
- Must be able to work with individuals who may be challenging at times.
- Must have a strong commitment to quality assurance.
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
