**ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT**

**ABOUT THE POSITION**

The Events Manager, Audio Visual Solutions will assist and collaborate with other stakeholders at the museum, as well as, outside vendors to fulfill live and/or virtual produced events and programming located throughout the museum in classrooms, auditoriums, conference rooms, galleries, event spaces, and any other specialized and general use areas where audiovisual technology is requested. The Events Manager, AVS will train, schedule, and supervise full-time Lead AV Technicians and freelance Audio Visual Technicians to fulfill events as requested. In addition, The Events Manager, AVS will support basic post-production services, such as video and/ or sound editing and mixing of recorded institutional content, and uploading of final deliverables.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Supervision and Management: Communicate best practices and see that audio-visual events are successfully executed by full-time Lead AV Technicians and freelance Audio Visual Technicians. Hold yearly performance reviews of Lead AV Technicians. Assemble and lead teams to complete special projects related to events production and systems repair/upgrade.

Scheduling and Calendar Management: Oversee and update the audio-visual events calendar, proactively providing necessary staffing resources.

Audio Visual Event Production: Intake, review, coordination, and fulfillment of requests, as well as, interact and communicate with requesting departments, clients, and event representatives. Execute delivery, set-up, and operation of audio, lighting, and visual presentation and projection systems: including microphone and audio source mixing, level monitoring, lighting control, video, and data projection, to support any live and/or virtual events and performances.

Technical Training: Provide orientation, technical training and supervision of Lead AV Technicians and freelance employees by documenting training guides and conducting training sessions, as well as, providing technical tours of the facilities, operations, and any configurations of existing audiovisual systems and equipment.

Manage, Troubleshoot and Maintain Equipment: Troubleshoot existing audiovisual equipment and systems in the museum. Coordinate or conduct repair or replacement of malfunctioning systems and equipment. Maintain upkeep, organization, cleanliness, and working condition of equipment in technician booths, control areas, and equipment storage. Manage, track, report and support installed and event equipment inventory. Verify accuracy of inventory before and after events.

Post Event Production and Archival Process: Operate and record audio and/or video of events for archival purposes. Provide the client or an event requester with recorded media documentation of an event. Assist in the process of digitally archiving all formats of recorded materials, as needed for special projects.
