Smt Operator

**General Summary: RPI Inc. is looking for someone to oversee the basic operation of the SMT department equipment by ensuring maximum output and mínimal quality issues.**

**Qualifications**:

- Must be familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process.
- Must be able to set-up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Solder Paste Screen Printer, Pick and Place Machine, and Reflow Oven.
- Must be able to properly clean boards.
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Knowledge of inspection process, inspect one section at a time, looking at component placement, orientation, polarity, value, and missing parts.

**Job Functions**:

- Picks components and prepares kits for manufacturing.
- Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components. Must successfully complete solder training course (Flex provided).
- Visually inspect assembly for obvious damage, non-conformance, cleanliness, component mounting and installation, and soldering quality.
- Maintain accurate job tracking records.
- Interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
