SMT Operator

General Summary: RPI Inc. is looking for someone to oversee the basic operation of the SMT department equipment by ensuring maximum output and minimal quality issues.

Qualifications:

• Must be familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process.

• Must be able to set-up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Solder Paste Screen Printer, Pick and Place Machine, and Reflow Oven.
• Must be able to properly clean boards.
• Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
• Knowledge of inspection process, inspect one section at a time, looking at component placement, orientation, polarity, value, and missing parts.

Job Functions:

• Picks components and prepares kits for manufacturing.
• Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components. Must successfully complete solder training course (Flex provided).
• Visually inspect assembly for obvious damage, non-conformance, cleanliness, component mounting and installation, and soldering quality.
  
• Maintain accurate job tracking records.
• Interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
