**Position Summary**:
**Angelina County Champions for Families (ACFF)** is a dynamic project that provides local, research-based, innovative services to improve child health and development and assist families in achieving economic self-sufficiency and stability. ACFF aims to establish a sustainable, comprehensive community support system for vulnerable families. As a Family Resilience Coach, you will play a pivotal role in the ACFF Project team, contributing to our mission by providing essential mental health services to program participants and supporting their emotional well-being and overall family stability. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development, as you will be actively involved in the program’s success by connecting with families, providing essential services, and promoting well-being. Your work will involve accomplishing program/project goals and objectives as outlined in the grant, making a real difference in the lives of the families we serve.
**Education/Licensure**:
Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field.Current and valid Texas state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).Three (3) years of paid experience in Public Health or Healthcare, specifically in providing mental health services, or equivalent.
**Essential Functions**:
- Individual and Family Counseling:_
- Conduct individual and family counseling sessions to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Assess mental health needs, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with other program staff to ensure holistic support for families.
- Crisis Intervention:_
- Respond to crisis situations promptly and effectively.
- Provide immediate support to families facing emergencies or acute stressors.
- Coordinate referrals to emergency services when necessary.
- Assessment and Diagnosis:_
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify mental health concerns.
- Diagnose mental health disorders based on clinical evaluation and standardized criteria.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Psychoeducation:_
- Educate families about mental health, coping strategies, and stress management.
- Facilitate psychoeducational workshops on topics such as parenting skills, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Collaboration and Consultation:_
- Work closely with case managers, social workers, and other professionals to provide integrated care.
- Consult with external agencies, schools, and community partners to enhance family support.
**Work Schedule**:
Works 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Some weekends for community outreach events.
**Knowledge and Abilities**:
- Clinical Competence:_
- Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy).
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to address diverse mental health needs.
- Ethical Practice:_
- Adhere to professional ethics and confidentiality standards.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Communication Skills:_
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex information in a clear and empathetic manner.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:_
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in case consultations and contribute to treatment planning.
