Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a **Clinical Scientist **, Neuropsychiatry **in the Clinical Development department in the Neuroscience (NS) Therapeutic Area (TA) to be located in La Jolla, CA.
The Clinical Scientist is a member of the Scientific Strategy and Clinical Execution Group. Their role is to ensure successful incorporation of scientific and technological innovation across clinical programs and studies conducted by the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area (NS TA). The Clinical Scientist translates scientific plans for NS indications into operational strategies in line with the Neuroscience Precision Strategy. Disease area activities include programs to drive advances of disease understanding, patient selection and stratification, treatment paradigms, assessment tools, outcome measures and clinical trial practices.
Critical to this role is the ability to build and foster collaborative relationships, providing guidance and facilitating effective communication within the team. The Clinical Scientist also possesses exceptional critical thinking skills, including curiosity, creativity and innovation, data analysis and interpretation.
The Clinical Scientist (CS-ST6) is a highly trained individual contributor in an area of Clinical Development research and typically will hold a PhD or equivalent experience in clinical development.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Acts as a highly trained individual contributor involved in the design, execution, and/or reporting of clinical trials and or studies.
- Analyzes the results of clinical research projects and drafts reports with detailed outcomes and results for relevant groups.
- Develops expertise and understanding of clinical trials documentation, requirements, regulations, operational procedures, study file requirements, regulatory requirements, policies, and process.
- Leverages documentation needed for data collection, analysis, reviews and maintaining correct standard operations, procedures, and protocol.
- Reviews medical and scientific literature and develops understanding of the global ecosystem for clinical trials in Neuroscience indications.
- Participates in vendor oversight focusing on the integration of data and technology in clinical trials
- Contributes to shaping and implementing compound and program DEI strategy together with Clinical Leader
- Drives effective communication and coordination between various teams to ensure alignment.
- Resolves conflicts, addresses challenges and facilitates problem-solving among team members.
- Assists in the risk assessments for strategic projects.
- Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- PhD or MD with 1+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant or Bachelors degree with 8+ years of experience, in a Life Science field (e.g. Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry).
**Experience and Skills**:Required**:
- Understanding of drug development (including clinical development, regulatory frameworks, drug safety, etc.)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
- Experience and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical trials is required.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building abilities are required
- Ability to navigate complex relationships and resolve conflicts effectively is required
- Strong strategic and analytical skills to make data-driven recommendations are required
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think long term are required
**Preferred**:
- Experience in Neurology, Psychiatry or Neuroscience is strongly preferred.
- **Other**:
- Expect up to 15-20% yearly international travel.
- Flexibility to adjust work hours to facilitate global collaboration.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $104,000 to $166,750.
