**Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator - Orthopedics**

**Duties**:

- Coordinate and manage the daily use of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) and Orthopedic braces of the Orthopedic department (2 weeks training is provided to transition into this role)
- Educate patients on insurance plans and provisions, financial responsibility, & collections of patient portion due
- Insure that all necessary documentation and authorization is obtained as it relates to payer requirements
- Communicate with patients and their families to provide information and answer questions
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and submit to billing
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare professionals as needed
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and equipment, and place orders when necessary
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in Orthopedics, is highly desirable
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical records systems
- Knowledgeable in medical terminology and anatomy
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
