Stamford Health is looking for a Full-time Manger, Volunteer Services.

The Manager of Volunteer Services oversees all aspects of Volunteer Services across Stamford Health and leads key projects and initiatives in the Volunteer Department. The Manager will oversee the Volunteer department operations to ensure consistency with Stamford Health's mission, vision, strategic focus, goals, and objectives.

The Manager will develop and administer policies that provide a high level of quality care and services for patients and their families. The Manager will determine resource needs for the department, ongoing program coordination, oversight of recruitment, retention and on-boarding of volunteers, and will provide leadership in the development of new programs in all areas.

General Managerial Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for effective management of Volunteer Services staff including hiring, on-boarding, training, supervision, performance evaluation, mentoring, instilling commitment to quality and excellence, and corrective action when appropriate.
2. Responsible for cultivating and managing community relationships to create a diverse talent pipelines; this includes but is not limited to various school affiliations, Abilis, Family Centers, etc.
3. Works with Director to prepare annual budget; establish and achieve goals; monitor status and projections of all accounts; ensure budget compliance; oversight of projects.
4. Contribute to the ongoing improvement processes in Human Resources; Assist with developing new policies, programs
4. Ensures the Performance Management Process for staff including goals, mandatory education and competency assessment is timely, effective, and meaningful.
5. Develops, administers, and reviews policies and procedures which guide the department programs and services to reflect the overall values of the organization.
6. Participate with Department Regulatory Preparedness.
7. An active Member of key Culture & Experience committees.

Specific Volunteer Services Responsibilities:
1. Works with various Stamford Health leaders to create key volunteer role position descriptions.
2. Responsible for developing and facilitating monthly volunteer orientation and coordinating presentations by key management to ensure all mandated information is reviewed.
3. Orients volunteers to increase their understanding of the organization, its clients, its services and the role and responsibilities of volunteers, and ensures volunteers are given appropriate training to be successful in their positions.
4. Plans and coordinates the use of volunteers throughout Stamford Health.
6. Ensures volunteer check-in procedures are followed, and records of volunteer hours are maintained according to established procedures.
7. Assists with conflict resolution among clients, staff and volunteers according to established procedures.
8. Evaluates the risks associated with each volunteer position and takes appropriate action to control the risks associated with the program or service.

A minimum of five years demonstrated experience in Volunteer Management is required
- Prior Healthcare experience is strongly preferred
- Exhibits outstanding customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Prior experience designing training programs, developing training materials, and facilitating presentations to various audiences.
- High level of competency with Microsoft Office or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of current trends, resources and information related to volunteering programs.

Expertise in volunteer database software is strongly preferred.

The ability to work with individuals at all levels across the organization, (senior leadership, team members, other departments), as well as with patients, guests and the community is required.

Bachelor's degree with a major in Business, Human Services, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration or other related field is required; Master's degree preferred.

Certification from the National Administration for Directors of Healthcare Volunteers is Preferred.
