Chiaravalle Montessori is looking for energetic, enthusiastic and motivated educators to make a commitment to our school, kids and community for the upcoming school year 2023 - 2024. We have a part-time Assistant Teacher opening in our Toddler program (16mths - 36mths). Our Toddler classrooms typically have one (1) Head Teacher and two (2) Assistant Teachers (depending on the class size). The days/hours of this position is Mondays - Fridays from 12pm - 6pm.

**THE POSITION**

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and with the guidance of the Head Teacher, the Assistant Teacher provides support for children by assisting them academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually in a manner that fosters the overall development and well-being of each child in accordance with the curriculum and Montessori philosophy. You will assist in preparing and maintaining an orderly learning environment well-equipped with the appropriate materials and supplies. You will also supervise the children as directed inside and outside the classroom, during transitions which may include lunchtime, naptime, recess, and others as scheduled.

**THE SCHOOL**

Chiaravalle is an AMS and ISACS accredited school, philosophically rooted in the methods of Maria Montessori. We incorporate mission-appropriate best practices in education to refine curriculum, improve programming, support learners, and enhance school culture.

Choice and self-pacing materials increase each learner's engagement and mastery of skills or concepts. Differentiated instruction and student-initiated learning are encouraged within our integrated Montessori curriculum.

Chiaravalle offers an education from infancy through preparation for high-school. As students make their journey, our nurturing yet challenging environment helps them gain greater independence and self-confidence while developing higher-order cognitive skills.

Physical requirements include full ability to see, walk, hear and talk as well as lift and carry up to 15 lbs. regularly, up to 40-50 lbs in the case of lifting or carrying a child in an emergency situation, and pushing/pulling/reaching to maintain files, supplies and equipment.
