**Position Title**: Assistant Director

**Position Summary**:The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director in all matters of day-to-day operations including ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center’s care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately while focusing on the core values of Apostles Preschool & Childcare.

**Responsibilities**:Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following general areas:
**Program Quality**: Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. Supports the Center and collaborate with the Director and staff in all areas of quality programming. Provides support to staff in the classroom and with curriculum planning. Follows all Center policies and procedures as well as licensing standards.

**Public Relations/Communications**: Welcoming and supportive interactions with children, parents and staff. Daily contact with families at drop off and pick up. Maintain communication with families and community through appropriate outreach activities and special events. Conducts meetings with staff and parents. Answers phones and follows up on inquiries and center tours.

**Health and Safety**: Thorough knowledge of health and safety procedures while maintaining a safe and clean indoor and outdoor environment. Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with the Center guidelines and state and local requirements.

**Leadership**: Excellent organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills. Provide guidance, mentorship and motivation to accomplish Center goals.

**Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required**:Must be at least 21 years of age and have previous management experience. Have strong oral and written communication skills. Must pass a TB screening. Current Medication Administration Certification and Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification or willing to acquire training when hired. Must clear full background check. Must be able to easily get up and down from a seated position on floor. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

**Work Schedule**: 40 hours per week. Additional hours as needed due to program needs, staff meetings, and training.
