Bidders will be required to go through an interview process which will be used to determine the successful bidder. Successful bidder must demonstrate public speaking/communication skills in a presentation style format.
Successful bidders into this position must successfully complete Aptitude Tests per Article 10, Section 15, except employees who are qualified and currently holding the bid classification will not be required to take the test.

**Summary**
Works with internal and external stakeholders to prevent damages to buried company facilities. Educates these stakeholders about the importance of safe and responsible digging practices.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
- Meets with various excavators, developers, other digging contractors and associated resources to discuss safe digging laws, the impact of hitting gas and electric facilities, and answer their questions to promote the use of Indiana’s digging laws and the locate request process.
- Meets with municipal and state personnel, local developers, and others involved in installation, maintenance and repair of underground facilities to educate them on safe digging practices and act as a liaison with the Company for future reference.
- Executes company outreach activities to prevent damages to buried facilities
- Provides training to internal and external audiences relative to policy and procedures and state one call laws. Training sessions may vary from one on one to group settings.
- Participates in local pre-construction meetings and stands-by on high risk construction projects to insure that facilities are accurately located, and that proper steps are taken by the contractor to protect NIPSCO facilities.
- Assists field locators when problems arise by researching electronic and paper maps, work order records, GIS, WMS, IRTH, and other sources. Takes action necessary to eliminate confusion between locate requestors, One Call centers, Damage Prevention, and field personnel.
- Performs on-site quality control to verify accuracy and timeliness of contract facility locates. Requires the use of electronic induction and conduction pipeline locating equipment and a thorough understanding of proper locating practices. Documents findings for summary and root cause analysis of contract facility locate issues.
- Provides facility information based on the specific request in the form of paper maps, job order records/sketches, etc.
- Negotiates and collaborates with field and locate requestors (contractors, municipalities, customers, etc.) to ensure appropriate company response and safe excavation practices compliant with state mandated requirements
- Collaborates with internal and external regulatory compliance in identifying areas for improvement. Suggests process improvements to further enhance safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction

**Required Qualifications for Position**
- High school diploma, or the equivalent.
