**Duties**:

- You will respond to medical emergencies to provide for the rescue and on scene stabilization for victims of fire, sudden illness, accidental injuries, childbirth, and other events requiring medical personnel.
- You will perform offensive and defensive firefighting operations on incidents involving structures, aircrafts, and wild land fire settings.
- You will be serve as a firefighter performing augmented skills of a credentialed Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) and Hazardous Materials Technician.
- You will respond to any release of hazardous materials, munitions, and fires at various storage sites, in vehicles or vessels used to transport these materials.
- You will be responsible for inspecting structures and hazardous areas for compliance with Marine Corps Orders, Base Orders on fire regulations and National Fire Codes.

- You must possess a current National Registry or State Certification as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a current: Airfield Operators permit and Airport Firefighter certification
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a current: Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Material Awareness, Hazardous Material Operations
- You will be required to obtain and maintain current FIREFIGHTER certifications: Driver Operator Pumper and Aerial
- You will be required to possess and maintain certification a FIREFIGHTER I and II by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
- You will be required to work hours and conditions that are in close contact with Supervisors and coworkers for long periods of time (24 to 72 hrs.)
- The incumbent must be certified at the appropriate firefighter certification levels as outlined in the DODI 6055.6.M, Department of Defense (DOD) Fire Emergency Services Certification Program.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responding to fires, hazardous material emergencies and administering emergency care.
- **GS-06**:Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responding to fires, hazardous material emergencies, operating hose lines, making forceable entries, conducting search and rescue, and administering emergency care.
