**The Klau Institute**, part of the Keough School of Global Affairs, aspires to provide transformative education, innovative research, and meaningful engagement with students and with the broader community. Our mission is to advance the God-given dignity of all human persons.
- and off-campus that will benefit the Klau Institute, for example, with faculty, University and Keough School Dean's Office colleagues, Advisory Board members, partner organizations, and alumni. This is a full-time staff position that reports to the faculty Director of the Institute.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

**Curricular programs and student advising and support**
- The AD has primary responsibility for the content, enrollment, and marketing of the Klau Institute's minor in civil and human rights, as well as course offerings for students at all levels of the university not enrolled in the minor, with particular attention to J.D., LL.M., and M.G.A. students.
- Continually reevaluate student interest in these programs, benchmarking against programs at other institutions and across campus, developing curricular plans and proposals, and working with university partners to market and increase enrollment in these programs.
- Collaborate closely with faculty regarding curricular development to advance the strategic goals of the Institute.
- Advise students regarding identifying and completing curricular requirements and participates in the Keough School's undergraduate program managers working group.
- Develop and implement co
- and extra-curricular educational opportunities and programming, including a student leadership program.

**Finance and Administration**
- Work closely with faculty director to formulate Klau Institute strategies and goals, direct long-term planning and budget, and develop programs, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for financial management of the Klau Institute, including preparing annual budget recommendations for the Director, monitoring financial performance, preparing financial reports, and complying with financial policies of the University and the Keough School.
- Work in coordination with the Finance and Administration team in the Dean's Office, as well as any appropriate Klau Institute administrative staff.
- Supervise the Program Director (limited term), Program Manager, and part-time communications manager.

**Grants and Research Initiatives**
- Serve as administrator for internal grant programs for faculty affiliates and fellowship programs for students.
- Develop and manage new initiatives as requested by the Director. Work includes collaborating with faculty fellows of the Klau Institute and scholars from other institutions to develop research initiatives, drafting external grant proposals, and managing grants received by the Klau Institute.
- The AD will have a major leadership role in launching the Migration Initiative, announced formally in Spring 2024, including strategic direction, supervising staff, and ensuring impact.

**Network Building**
- Support the Director in building and maintaining relationships both on
- and off-campus that will benefit the Klau Institute, for example, with faculty, administrators, Advisory Board members and benefactors, partner organizations, and alumni.

This is a full-time staff position that reports to the faculty Director of the Institute.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**Education**: Masters degree or Bachelors degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelors

**Experience**:7 or more years

**Skills**:

- Prior experience as an effective supervisor and leader within a complex, international organization
- Seven or more years of relevant experience in program administration, preferably in an academic or nonprofit setting
- Ability to think strategically, seeing and connecting big-picture goals and values with mission, while also handling day-to-day details
- Experience in and with programs with international dimensions and scope
- Demonstrated evidence of effective oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.
- Deep understanding of academia and the research environment
- Strong organizational, analytical, project management skills
- High degree of independence and initiative; action-orientation
- Experience managing budget and financial resources

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D.)
- Passion for Human Right, Civil Rights, Racial or Gender Justice, or Global Affairs
