Very busy animal hospital in Gambrills is seeking a part time (roughly 21-27 hours/week on average) evening and Saturday receptionist to start immediately. Your shift would be Monday - Friday from 3pm-6pm and Saturdays from 7:45am-1pm. Must be reliable, dependable and have experience in customer service with a basic working knowledge of computers and multi-line phone systems. The applicant must have a positive personality and be able to work well with others while in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Receptionists are the first people our clients interact with, so a professional appearance and pleasant phone voice are mandatory. You must have strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task while building a good rapport with our clients. It is also imperative that our new hire be able to handle a sad or upset client with decorum. The nature of our business will put you face to face with someone who may be losing a valued member of their family. This is often a tender area and not all are equipped to deal with it.

As mentioned above, the applicant should have flexibility in their schedules in the event they are needed to cover additional shifts on the occasion that a co-worker is either sick or on vacation. When coverage is necessary it is good for you to know that we open at 7:30am each day during the week.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

Applicant will be responsible for greeting clients and their pets, answering phones, helping clients with their questions/concerns and keeping the lobby tidy as well as basic clerical duties such as filing charts, taking messages for the Doctor and Business Manager, conveying clients issues to the Doctor and scheduling appointments.

**Qualifications and Skills**

Applicant should have some experience in customer service. Having the ability to multi-task is key. Experience in a fast paced environment is a plus.

Please note, this is not your typical Reception job where you are able to sit a majority of the day. There is a lot of "up and down" associated with the duties required of you.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 21 per week
