**About Us.**

‘The Full PLAY’ [TFP] is an afterschool program that is designed to provide enrichment activities and classes. Each day starts with students meeting at a central location, usually the multi-purpose room, for a nutritious snack and to check in. That’s followed by a variety of activities which may include attending one of PlayCV’s enrichment classes, receiving schoolwork support in Homework Club, participating in fun playground games and outdoor activities, or enjoying social engagement opportunities.

- Have TK and/or elementary aged classroom experience or have After School and/or Summer Program experience.
- Are fair, responsible, dependable, and consistent.
- Have patience, compassion and kindness.
- Are flexible, proactive, punctual and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire school year.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish/English a huge plus

**About the Role.**

The Team Captain will lead a team that provides high quality after-school programs for youth and their families. In a structured and supportive environment, TFP Instructors will facilitate enrichment, recreation, educational opportunities, and fun experiences for students. The position might be perfect for you if you like working with students, developing their social-emotional skills, and improving the ability of students to learn and have fun, while strengthening the program's connection with students, families, and school staff. Working in a fast-paced environment, knowledge of youth development best practices, and problem-solving skills are essential.

The TFP Instructors work with students from the last bell at the end of the school day until the latest pickup time of 6 p.m., every day. In addition to supporting students during scheduled enrichment classes, TFP Instructors implement supplemental enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, in-house and outsourced enrichment classes, art, homework support, and guiding student behavior, social, academic, and career development. As part of PlayCV's continuous improvement efforts, TFP Instructors also help develop and refine enrichment activities such as classes, demonstrations, challenges, and just plain fun. Above all else, the Lead TFP Instructor is responsible for ensuring the safety of our students and acting as the safety manager for the site.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

- Promote a safe and comfortable work environment that supports inclusion and does not tolerate harassment/discrimination/retaliation.
- Provides direction, coaching and mentoring for the team in order to support students in our program.
- Ensures students are supervised at all times, checked-in / checked-out, and that our students-to-instructor ratio is maintained and in compliance.
- Train and develop new and existing team members. Follow training plans and systems in place to achieve targeted goals.
- Maintain and update the Site Guide, a document that contains site specific rules and information, upcoming calendar of events, facilities availability and contacts.
- Review and implement any special accommodations needed for students and/or staff.
- Ensure that employees take breaks as required and minor work limitations are adhered to as directed.
- Report employee and/or guardian, teacher, student complaints immediately.
- In collaboration with PlayCV leadership, act as liaison between principal, teachers, and PlayCV team members.
- In collaboration with PlayCV leadership, maintains close contact with parents/guardians involved with a youth participant.
- Report highly sensitive issues to management and offer workable solutions.
- Supports organization events and do other duties as assigned by supervisor/ management.
- Inventory snacks and supplies and submit weekly orders as needed.
