**Duties**:

- Performs record keeping operations associated with the testing process.
- Reviews audiograms and makes judgments about need for follow-on testing.
- Receives patients reporting to the clinic for care.
- Provides guidance and information on clinic policies and procedures to the patient.
- Performs mandated calibration checks on equipment and records results.
- Sets up required medical equipment daily.
- Coordinates and administers microcomputer driven audiometric examinations performed to determine hearing loss.
- Perform health education briefings on "prevention of noise-induced hearing loss"

**Conditions of Employment**:

- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
- This position requires the employee to wear a uniform, scrubs, or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and Certifications from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.

**Who May Apply: US Citizens**
- **_Specialized Experience:_** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes working in a medical treatment facility performing work that provided knowledge of clinical procedures with duties such as receiving patients; using a computer to access patient information; providing patients with information on clinical programs; performing hearing screenings.

**Education**:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

**Additional information**:
