The Preschool Inclusion Consultant position is a PART TIME position beginning JULY/AUGUST 2023, from 8:00am-1:30pm. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required (Master's preferred) as well as 3+ years of "hands on" teaching/clinic experience with young children with unique learning needs. Autism experience required. The current opening serves Sheltering Arms at 4365 Welcome All Rd, College Park, GA 30349.

The Inclusion Consultant model is intended to maximize access to educational, behavioral and classroom management strategies utilizing best practices for teachers and children serviced. The Inclusion Consultant model follows the mission and professional standards upheld by The Adaptive Learning Center and partnering organizations.

The Inclusion Consultant (IC) is a “caseload” model. Caseloads will include 1-5 children based on guidelines below and identified by partnering organizations. The IC model is designed to provide consistent and continuous training for teachers and partnering staff in order to collaboratively meet the needs of the identified children.

The Inclusion Consultant will provide the following services:

- Provide ongoing observation and collaboration with administrators, teachers, parents and therapists in order to determine and prioritize the needs of the child identified for inclusion services.
- Coordinate with partnering administrators, teachers, parents and therapists and develop an inclusion plan with targeted goals and objectives for the child identified for inclusion services
- Collaborate with administrators, parents, therapists, classroom teachers or other professionals who are working with the identified children, assuring the implementation and generalization of each child’s targeted goals and objectives
- Support classroom teachers in documenting progress of identified caseload and assist in formulating goals and objectives as mastery occurs
- Create and send weekly, individual notes to dictate progress towards goals and objectives and successful strategies implemented for each child on caseload
- Schedule initial team meeting with parents, teachers and related staff to discuss the purpose and intended goals of program
- Attend scheduled fall and spring inclusion meetings (bi-annually) with parents, administration, classroom teachers, therapists and other related professionals to promote a collaborative team approach in working with the identified children
- Provide appropriate teaching interventions and “hands on” educational training to classroom teachers, encouraging learning opportunities and increasing participation of the identified children
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to modify the current classroom activities, materials or curriculum to meet the needs of the identified child’s individual learning style
- Encourage and model appropriate behavioral and social/emotional strategies using an interactive approach with identified children, peers and classroom teachers
- Assist families in the transition of identified children to community programs, public or private school settings to ensure the continuation of appropriate educational and therapeutic services
