We are a large Medical Surgical Department that has 4 units when opened in full; a total of about 100 beds at our fullest. Our patient population is very broad, and can be 18 years of age to end of life. Our medical populations most common diagnoses are pneumonia, infection management, wound care, post op gynecological or urological procedures, new ostomy site management, and the list can go on. Currently, 3 out of 4 of our units are for COVID patients only. We have two medical COVID units and 1 progressive care COVID unit with the ability to cardiac monitor patients.

In your role as a** Patient Care Assistant for the Medical Surgical Department** **at Banner Baywood Medical Center**, you will help provide basic nursing assistance to patients. Duties can vary from vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate), assisting with patient hygiene and movement, and generally monitoring the patient and providing updates to clinical staff. We currently seek both **Full-Time & Part-Time Night Certified Patient Care Assistant CPCA, **ideally a CNA / LNA to join our **Banner Baywood Medical Center Orthopedic Department.** As a at Banner Baywood Medical Center PCA, you will become an integral part of our wonderful culture within a Magnet Recognized Hospital
- ** Full Time Night (3 -12 hour shifts)** **& Part Time Night Shifts Available (2 -12 hour shifts)** - There are no set days you can be scheduled each week
- ** Shift Hours can be from 7:00pm -7:30am (Nights)**:

- You will also have the opportunity to utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage
- Varied Shifts = could be working days nights, weekends
- There is no on call requirement
- Weekend Rotations are required in this role. 2 Weekend shifts required each month
- Rotating Holidays Required - 1 major and 1 minor
- ** Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-Night Shift differential when applicable**

Banner Baywood Medical Center is a 342 bed hospital serving the health care needs of the dynamic and growing East Valley communities of metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. We provide complete acute care services and outpatient services to include but not limited to cancer, stroke, women's health, rehabilitation, emergency medicine and surgery. Our Emergency Department treats a variety of ailments and offers advanced treatment areas, with 68 beds, seeing over 50,000 patients per year. We are certified as pediatric prepared as well as designated as a Trauma level 3 emergency room. In addition, our comprehensive orthopedic unit is one of the nation’s premier orthopedic programs. Because we are also a leader in neurological medicine, people throughout Arizona come to us when they need treatment for conditions of the brain, spine and nervous system.

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.

2. Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.

3. Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in the patient’s health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of p
