Do you love working with kids and sports? We have the perfect opportunity for you We are seeking a high potential individual to learn and grow in a Basketball Coordinator position. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing volunteer coaches, coaching youth basketball teams and officiating basketball games.
i9 Sports offers youth sports leagues, camps and clinics for boys and girls ages 3-16 in today’s most popular sports such as flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball and baseball. With our focus on fun, safety, convenience, good sportsmanship, and age appropriate instruction i9 Sports is reinventing the youth sports experience for families across the country. i9 Sports is a 100% employee-owned company.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in setup / breakdown of the courts (may assist in setting up other sports as needed)
- Run practices and games alongside volunteer coaches
- Serve as a coach / mentor for players
- Knowledge of youth sports, Basketball *MUST KNOW BASKETBALL GAME PLAY AND RULES*
- Able to manage and set parent and players expectations
- Create a fun on-court learning environment
- Keep practices and games running on time
- Assist in building our membership/registration base
- Set up and breakdown booth/canopy
- Interact with customers and educate them on the i9 Sports Experience
- Build relationships with players, parents, and coaches while making sure that the instructional aspects of the i9 Sports Experience are delivered
- Observe, assess, and assist our volunteer coaches. The position entails hands on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skills levels
- Responsible, well organized
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to efficiently solve problems
- Ability to motivate and manage others (i.e. coaches)
- Extremely reliable and responsible
- Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional business relationships
- Previous experience working with kids
- Desire to learn sports management
- Sport specific expertise in Basketball
**Requirements**:
- Must be 18+ years of age or older
- Part Time Availability - Approximately 8 Hours Per Day (MUST BE AVAILABLE ON SUNDAY MORNINGS)
- Enjoy working with kids and be able to exercise outside for several hours
- Must have reliable transportation and able to be at work by 7am
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- This is a position that requires jogging/running while officiating (this is not a desk position)
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
