Position Summary:
Housed under the newly developed University Consortium of Schools (previously PreK-12), the UCLA Lab School is an innovative school forchildren ages 4-12 and a laboratory for teachers and researchers in the School of Education & Information Studies (SE&IS) at UCLA. The Business Office manages and supports an annual budget of $11 million and manages over 100+ academic and careers employees, 30+ student workers, independent contractors, and volunteers.

The Extended Day Program (EDP) Coordinator of UCLA Lab School within the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies (GSE&IS) is responsible for the overall management of the program. Primary responsibilities are program management, classroom and curriculum development, health and safety policy/procedure, and personnel administration. The Coordinator is also responsible to maintain program quality. This includes the training and supervision of lead teachers, assistants and volunteers of the program, overseeing curriculum planning, implementing planned activities and supervision of children, overseeing all billing and fee collections and the yearly budget.

Salary & Compensation: *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. - 2-3 years Experience working with children in an elementary school setting (required)
- Demonstrated experience to manage and direct a school-age after school program. Skill to staff and organize other school personnel and outside researchers to meet program objectives. (required)
- Ability to effectively supervise and train teaching staff, including job assignments, performance evaluations, and assisting in daily work involving children age 4 to 12. (preferred)
- Analytical skill to interpret financial reports and periodically assess the financial health of the Extended Day Program. Identify financial variances and their cause and work with financial staff to make appropriate adjustments. (required)
- Ability to work and speak to people of various social, cultural, economic, and educational background and establish good working relationships with staff, parents, and children. (required)
- Skill to establish a positive, safe and healthy, and stimulating educational environment for children ages 4 to 12. (required)
- Mediation skill to manage conflict for employees, to provide a framework for problem solving and compromise, and to listen and communicate actively, assertively and effectively. (required)
- Ability to coordinate factors of UCLA Lab School' mission and philosophy into the Extended Day Program, analyze the effects of policy interpretation on EDP operations to integrate the goals and objectives. (required)
- Ability to facilitate communication between teachers and parents and to provide forums (written or verbal) for exchange of information. (required)
- Working knowledge of the most current operating system with MAC computer and most recent software, such as Microsoft Word and Filemaker. Ability to learn how to utilize student information system database. (required)
- Skill to identify and select quality literature and other resources written in standard English text such as Early Childhood curriculum and children's books. (required)

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

- First-Aid (required)

Special Conditions of Employment:
