Nursery Manager/ Purchasing Agent

Join our team as a Nursery Manager/Purchasing Agent and contribute to our mission of providing the highest quality plant material. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee the daily operations of our nursery, including staffing, budgeting, and procurement. This role also involves developing and implementing nursery policies and procedures, managing budgets, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the nursery. **Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement nursery policies and procedures
- Manage daily operations of the nursery, including opening and closing procedures
- Oversee budgeting and financial planning for the nursery
- Hire, train, and delegate duties to nursery staff
- Monitor watering times, soil conditions, plant positions, and weather conditions
- Respond to customer requests and assist nursery staff
- Manage softscape sourcing, pricing, and purchasing
- Ensure the highest quality of plant material and tag plant material as necessary
- Develop and manage procurement strategies/processes
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Approve purchase orders and confirm delivery
- Update and manage the inventory tracking systems for plant supply stock and goods associated
- Produce procurement reports as required
- Work with Design team to generate pricing guides and estimates

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience with plant material procurement
- Excellent organizational skills
- General knowledge and proper care practices of trees/shrubs/perennials
- Horticultural degree is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a high energy environment
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written
- Confident, motivated, a team player with a positive attitude
