**Primary Purspose of the Role**
- The Manufacturing Director provides oversight and senior-level management to the Houston chemical plant. This position works with Houston plant leadership to create the vision and set the strategic direction for achieving excellence in safety, environmental, process safety management (PSM), quality and manufacturing.
- The Manufacturing Director provides leadership and governance to continuously improve safety, environmental and PSM programs consistent with the site's core values and commitment to our VPP program and initiatives.
- The Manufacturing Director serves as a change and innovation agent by building alignment with the site functions, internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives. A a people leader, this role is responsible for developing a culture of accountability, high performance and ensures succession plans and knowledge transfer processes are sustainable. This role champions diversity and inclusion and provides leadership in leveraging talent practices that encourage associate development and improve organizational performance. The Manufacturing Director brings an in-depth understanding of the marketplace in collaboration with supply, commercial and the financial groups to position the site for growth and business success.
- This associate will work with Houston Leadership teams to develop and execute the site's annual operating plan (AOP), capital portfolio, plant maintenance and reliability plans. This role will follow a systematic approach in managing change, risk, production and plant operating costs.
- This role is accountable for leading and developing the site leadership team representing the EHS, Operations, Technical, HR, Maintenance and Engineerning Functions. The Manufacturing Director provides exceptional leadership by bringing diverse teams together in developing and executing business plans with a shared vision and purpose to achieve extraordinary results.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
- Serve as an EHS champion through engagement and field visibility consistent with site's core values and VPP programs and initiatives. Foster a spirit of continuous improvement, maintain associate accountability and re-enforce expectations that every associate has a Stop Work Obligation(SWO). Encourage associate participation to build and strengthen safety, environmental, industrial hygiene and ergonomic programs to produce products safely and in compliance with practices, procedures, policies, laws and regulations.
- Encourage innovation and technology use to prevent and reduce waste generation. Provide support in the implementation and use of management systems to minimize environmental impacts of operations and products.
- Set high-standards and expectations for producing high-quality products right the first time. Support teams in implementing plans to meet and improve first pass prime production. Provide strategic direction to the operations and quality control functions in support of meeting monthly production tickets for each product line.
- Foster a culture of customer focus by ensuring teams actively pursue permanent solutions to customer complaints to minimize customer dissatisfaction and reduce the number of complaints.
- The Manufacturing Director is a key member of the Senior Chemical Leadership Team. This role interacts with Chemical Division functions and corporate leadership as necessary. This role is accountable for leading the site leadership team representing the EHS, Operations, Technical, HR, Maintenance and Engineering Functions. The incumbent will hold operational/leadership meetings per the site's cadence to ensure alignment in executing the site's business plans. The Manufacturing Director will foster collaboration and alignment with key strategic functions in finance, accounting, commercial, supply, logistics, and procurement.
- The Manufacturing Director will focus on resource allocation and optimization to help the Houston site achieve business plan objectives. This role will review and approve the capital projects portfolio and budgets consistent with the capital planning process. This role provides leadership in ensuring expenditures (compared against approved budgets) are monitored by the Accounting and Engineering departments.
- The Manufacturing Director serves on several industry groups, committees and supports community events.

- Direct Team: 6 Managers across Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Technology, Environmental, Safety and HR.
- Key Colleagues, Peers & Internal Contacts: Plant Managers, Supply Chain, Commercial, corporate leadership groups.
- External: relevant regulatory and governance-based agencies such as OHSA, EPA etc. Community Groups as it relates to our social and community responsibility.
