**Credentialing Specialist**

**CLASSIFICATION/STATUS**: Non-Exempt, Part Time, Permanent

**IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR**: Director of Patient Accounts

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**: None

**SALARY: Band 3**:($22.00-$30.50/hour)

**YOUR ROLE & IMPACT**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist with CAQH enrollment.
- Assist providers with obtaining NPI (National Provider Identifier) numbers.
- Review packet once received, completing and answering all questions pertaining to the Health Center, Health Center information (i.e. TIN, NPI, etc).
- Facilitate provider signatures and document completion.
- Address additional inquiries or requests from external from external credentialing personnel.
- Update internal tracker upon obtaining privilege's from insurance companies.
- Initiate and follow up with all insurance companies outside of Beth Israel Lahey Health Performance Network (BILHPN) to obtain credentialing as soon as possible.
- Maintain detailed notes and communication regarding payer actions and request.
- Provider monthly status updates to operations regarding providers and payers.
- Maintain CAQH Re-Attestation.
- Maintain Provider and Health Center Directories up to date.
- Work directly with HR to maintain licensure information current.
- Other responsibilities as requested.

**Qualifications, Traits, and Competencies**:

- College courses or degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources and experience with an CAQH database preferred.
- Familiarity with medical billing preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook essential.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Prior experience in a health care setting and in diverse culture preferred
