Freelance Art Director

We are seeking a Freelance Art Director with a passion and a desire for great design that contributes to the creation of compelling digital campaigns and experiences. You will work on an account that is one of the most influential commerce and music hubs in the world.
**Location**:Long Beach, CA office - Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote
**Reports To**:Creative Director
**Hourly salary rate**: $40/hr
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure design consistency and coherence by adhering to established brand guidelines and design systems.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of fellow designers, offering guidance and making necessary adjustments.
- Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring the seamless execution of creative deliverables.
- Infuse innovative ideas and strategic thinking into creative execution to drive impactful results.
- This role requires a hands-on approach, actively engaging in creative tasks.
- Foster clear communication and collaboration with our account managers, project managers, strategy teams, and production teams to conceptualize and create innovative consumer content programs.
- Collaborate with the production studio by crafting storyboards and providing art direction for the creation of motion graphics and videos.
- Maintain well-organized working files to facilitate smooth collaboration between the internal creative team and external resources. This includes tasks such as resizing and versioning.
- Present ideas to clients and incorporate their feedback to make sure the final product matches their vision. Stay updated on online advertising trends and best practices across various ad platforms.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital design or equivalent experience
- 3-5 year’s experience in a creative agency or creative team (an excellent portfolio will be considered as equivalent)
- Core strength is in digital, graphic design and communications
- You have a passion for design, creativity and technology
- An excellent sensibility for photography, illustration, and typography
- Motion graphics a huge plus but not required
- Knowledge of online marketing, visual design, usability, accessibility, interaction design, brand principals, and the creative process
- Experience with Figma required, contributing to collaborative design processes, effective team communication, and UI design
- Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills to facilitate collaborations within the team.
- A deep attention to detail and a dedication to proper delivery
- Quick to adapt through proactive problem solving, work with a sense of urgency
- A high level of comfort in presenting work both internally and to clients with confidence
- Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite
