The Maintenance Assistant works on general maintenance projects at our clinical and residential building areas. The Maintenance Assistant performs a variety of maintenance duties, to maintain the facilities in an orderly and safe condition, including basic plumbing, patching and painting, and ongoing maintenance to ensure the upkeep of facilities. Work is full time during the weekdays. Work is performed at the residential and clinic sites and includes outside work in ambient temperatures ranging from 30-100 degrees F +/-2 degrees. The residential site may be a home and/or an apartment complex which may have two stories that is accessible by one flight of stairs.With traumatic brain injury, life changes in an instant. Work is full time during the weekdays, Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm with some overtime work. Work is performed on site with some travel.

**Job Tasks**:

- After receiving instructions as to the area and specific work assignment, assembles necessary supplies for transporting to the designated area. At the end of shift, returns unused supplies to the utility room, leaves trash in designated areas and equipment. Assures compliance of State, CARF and, in CA, Cal-OSHA regulations. Requires ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
- Performs the following duties as required: light maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, wet-washes, and vacuuming of floors.
- Minor repairs could include the following: Installation of kitchen & bath faucets, toilets, garbage disposals. Change out light fixtures, electrical plugs and receptacles. Repair tables, recliners, chairs, cabinet doors and drawers. Fix door locks and cabinet locks. Minor repair on stoves, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers. Minor repair to water lines, including cooper, PVC and galvanized. Minor framing and finish carpentry
- Performs safety check of residential facilities and turns in monthly report to Residential Manager (Administrator).
- Repairs any mechanical failures or negative conditions.
- Assists Maintenance/Housekeeping Supervisor as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- High school graduation or G.E.D. required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience is preferred.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It’s not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are arrived at each unique case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $19.00 per hour.
