We're looking to hire a Medical Assistant with **experience for both front and back office**.

Must have **a positive attitude, very friendly customer service etiquette, highly organized, confident and competent**.

**Essential Functions/Responsibilities**:

- **Must be HIPAA certified. **Maintain and updated certifications on HIPAA, Blood born pathogens, CRP and **pass background checks**.
- Welcome and assist patients in a **friendly, confident and professional **manner by greeting them in person or on the phone.
- Verify patients' personal and insurance information and be able to **articulately **discuss insurance benefits and self-pay options with patients.
- Must be able to **communicate **with patients on the phone and on text message in both **English and Spanish.**:

- Interview patients and record medical history, confirming the purpose of visit, and documenting these information into the **EMR system**.
- Prepare exam rooms with appropriate instruments for examination or treatment.
- Perform all necessary preliminary physical **tests **(i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height, vision screening, hearing screening, sterilizations, etc).
- Experienced in the ability to **draw and collect blood samples** from patients (kids and adults) and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Experienced in the ability to **conduct laboratory tests **(i.e. urine tests, blood tests, nasal or oral swabs, etc.)
- Experienced in administering **injections**, **vaccinations**, and wound care to Adults & Pediatric patients.
- Assists medical providers with procedures and/or diagnostic exams.
- Follow our strict system for patient test results and follow-ups.
- Performs routine clerical functions as assigned (i.e. booking appointments, verifying insurance, chart management, telephone calls, relay messages, etc).
- **Highly organized** and maintain a **clean, safe** and well organized environment all times, ensure that all equipment are maintained, cleaned and safe.
- **Secure patient information** and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; **keeping patient information confidential.**:

- Document patient information, nursing procedures and patient responses, following established guidelines into the EMR system.
- Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relations with staff and co-workers. Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment.
- Be able to **learn fast and accept constructive feedbacks** to continuously improve.

**Skills required**:

- Be able to work in an environment that can quickly switch from being very quiet to very fast paste. Must have great time management and flexibility skills to keep up with the unexpended workload of the day as well as complete assigned tasks during quiet hours.
- **Self-motivated and determined.** Someone who does not require constant supervision or guidance, but seek help when necessary.
- **Analytical ability necessary to handle patient problems, review and verify insurance information, research billing problems and find quality solutions.**:

- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, physicians and other personnel.
- **Exceptional customer service (in person and on the phone).**:

- General office/computer work.
- Friendly and upbeat demeanor.
- Report to work properly dressed according to the approved dress code.
- Adhere to guidelines concerning working hours and break periods.
- Manage time effectively to complete all patient treatments and related activities as assigned.
- Maintain professional standards and procedures ensuring compliance with company policies and with applicable regulations.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect clinic assets and property against loss or waste through negligence or dishonesty.
- Demonstrate support to other co-workers by offering help.

**Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED.
- **English & Spanish speaking.**:

- **Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or equivalent.**:

- At least 12 months Healthcare experience or 12 months Medical Assistant experience required.
- **Must be up to date on all vaccines.**:

- **Must pass complete background checks.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, PRN, Per diem

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
