Ophthalmic Technician I or Ii

Job Overview:
- Performs basic eye examinations under the supervision of an ophthalmologist. This includes; brief medical history, age-appropriate visual acuity, lensometry, tonometry, and instillation of eye drops.
- Serves as member of multidisciplinary team to facilitate patient visits and collaborates with clinical staff to ensure efficient clinical flow.
- Ensures the clinical environment is well-stocked, well-maintained, and compliant with hospital safety guidelines.
- Performs clinical room preparation and supply ordering as needed.
- Keeps informed of Joint Commission patient safety goals.
- Assists department with compliance and works within departmental and hospital standards.
- Assists in explaining treatments or procedures to patients and their families.
- Ensures that educational materials are created and available as assigned
**To qualify, you must have**:
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Current registration as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA certification) required
- 2 years of experience, (at least 3 months for Ophthalmic I), as an ophthalmic technician or equivalent required
- Experience in pediatric ophthalmology preferred

Pay: $25.36 - $30.54 per hour
