Anixter Center’s Grants and Contract Administrator is responsible for securing critical funding for Anixter Center, ensuring we can deliver innovative and transformative services to fulfill our mission. This role oversees the comprehensive grant management program and leverages their expertise to cultivate relationships and secure funding from diverse sources like local foundations, government agencies, corporations, and more. This role oversees Anixter Center’s part time contracts and government manager.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:

- Manage the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government sources (pre-award through post-award);
- Nurture strong connections with grant makers and build long-term partnerships that translate into sustained financial support for our programs;
- Consult with grant-making entities regarding specific grant proposals to ensure that the proposal meets guidelines and/or initiative requirements and is a well-formulated request;
- Collaborate with colleagues across Anixter Center to transform ideas into successful grant submissions by translating program and project concepts into persuasive written proposals that resonate with funders, showcasing program effectiveness and compelling outcomes;
- Conduct literature reviews on current and relevant topics and evidence-based models;
- Serve as lead writer and editor for assigned grants, and coordinate review of each grant by key staff;
- Develop and rework program/project narratives about all aspects of the organizations work to align with a diverse array of funding opportunities;
- As a partner assist with oversight of the implementation of awarded grants, guaranteeing adherence to all requirements and deadlines;
- Prepare timely, detailed and transparent reports, demonstrating the positive outcomes achieved through each grant;
- In partnership with finance and program departments, monitor grant/contract budget process and reporting process;
- Maintain an efficient, organized electronic and hard copy filing system for past and present grants, including overseeing long-term storage of grant records.
- Serves as an articulate, enthusiastic, and visible spokesperson for Anixter.
- Participates in appropriate professional associations, local networking, and training opportunities.
- Actively participates and contributes to assigned committees.
- Other duties as business necessitates.

**Time Allocation Anticipated**
- Development of new grant activities and materials (Approximately 60% of time)
- Implement and administer organizational grant development for current grants and resubmissions (Approximately 25% of time)
- Administrative and operational support activities (Approximately 15% of time)

**REQUIREMENTS**
- A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in grants administration or the equivalent is required.
- Experience with State of Illinois contracting and procurement is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a solid ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline
- driven environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office is required, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in using Raiser’s Edge is preferred.
