Camp Program Director

**This is a fulltime seasonal position at a children's residential summer camp. Room and board are part of the compensation package for this position. The incumbent will be required to work 8-9 weeks this summer.**

**General Responsibilities**:
1. To make a program available that features outdoor living, and activity skills. It should include fun and adventure, cooperative planning, group living, social adjustment, improvement of health and enrichment of the quality of life.

2. Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to program staff and campers, contributing towards the provision of a positive camp experience for both campers and staff.

3. Be an integral part of the overall program at The Barton Center.

4. Use skills, talents, experience and knowledge to positively influence the summer camp experience in all areas of camp life.

5. Uphold The Barton Center code of conduct.

**Specific Responsibilities**:
1. Work directly with cabin staff to prepare schedules for each cabin per day.

2. When creating schedules, maintain proper 18+ coverage on each activity, while also providing time off for each staff member.

3. Schedule 24 hour off periods each week for all staff members, ensuring proper 18+ coverage on all activities.

4. Maintain open communication with the opposite camps program coordinator to plan inter-camp activities.

5. Provide insight and feedback on new and old program elements such as activities, evening programs, etc.

6. Inform Health Care Team (HCT) and kitchen staff of program schedule as necessary.

7. Work with office manager as needed.

8. Submit written recommendations on recreation equipment, facilities, staffing, and recreation/sports/camping programs for the next camping season at the end of the summer.

9. Ensure that the camp facilities, equipment and staff are ready for camp activities. Coordinate and assist with the supervision of camp clean-up days, opening and closing days and at the end of camp.

10. Perform other tasks as assigned or requested.

**Qualifications**:
1. Minimum 21 years of age at the start of camp.

2. Ability to schedule, teach and supervise a variety of camp activities.

3. Ability to maintain organization for multiple activities and events.

4. Current First Aid & CPR certifications.

5. Ability to act in a leadership, administrative and supervisory capacity and be a positive role model for both staff and campers.

6. Ability to accept supervision and guidance and relate to one’s peer group.

7. Good character, integrity and ability to adapt to a camp setting.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: From $450.00 per week
