We are seeking a **Medical Receptionist** to become a part of our surgical healthcare team. You will perform routine front desk duties to keep our General Surgery office running smoothly. This medical receptionist will spend 2 days a week at our Valparaiso office location, and one day a week at our LaPorte office. Previous experience required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Handle all front desk duties in a timely manner
- Checking in patients during clinic hours
- Managing incoming office phone calls
- Making reminder phone calls for upcoming patient appointments
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Creating patient charts in the EMR
- Maintaining surgeons clinic schedules
- Verify patient's insurance prior to appointment
- Post payments (patient co-pays)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

**Experience**:

- Medical terminology: 1 year (preferred)
- Computer skills: 1 year (preferred)
