**Role Overview**
- We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Athletic Trainer to support our Orthopedic outpatient center Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. This position is located in our state-of-the-art facility at Wentworth Douglass Hospital's Pease Campus at 67 Corporate Drive, Portsmouth, NH 03801. In this location we provide advanced treatment options to our patients to best help eliminate their pain and regain mobility.
- As an Athletic Trainer, this role facilitates patient flow throughout the office and supports the providers to ensure timely delivery of quality patient care. Duties include:

- Patient education relating to dietary and exercise programs.
- Patient education regarding the proper durable medical equipment (DME) use.
- Patient education regarding proper cast care.
- Assisting the provider during routine procedures such as injections, suture, and staple removal.
- Operation of the MGB electronic health record (EPIC) and electronic dictation system.

The ability to anticipate provider needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic, good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important in this role.

We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Graduate of an accredited Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Program required.
- Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in New Hampshire required.
- One year in a medical office, hospital, or practice setting required.
- Training in medical terminology preferred.
- EHR experience preferred.
- CPR certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
