**Job Title (Dog Trainer)**

The role of a Dog Trainer at RDT is to understand the goals of the owner, the needs of the dog, and is able to execute an appropriate training plan to fulfill such requirements. While dogs attend any of our training programs, it is the responsibility of the Dog Trainers to teach the owner strategies and techniques in order to achieve the desired behaviors. Any training goals discussed in the initial phone consultation should be noted by Dog Trainer. Dog Trainers are to send 1 - 2 minute video tutorials to the owners by 7PM for each assigned dog that day.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Consult with clients to discuss training concerns and training needs
- Teach clients appropriate training techniques to allow them to build, reinforce, and maintain skills learned by dogs during training sessions
- Communicate with clients via video reports and during pick up/drop off hours
- Strive to maintain a positive rapport and open communication with clients
- Develop a suitable training plan for each assigned dog and document their progress in progress report chart
- Have the ability to teach a dog basic obedience using various techniques that are best suited to each individual dog and situation
- Implement appropriate training protocols when working with the full spectrum of dog training (behavior modification cases, potty training, reactivity, puppy training, socializations, separation anxiety, etc.)
- Understand and carry out LIMA hierarchy
- Ensure that all training areas are clean and well-maintained; sanitizing kennels, floors, keeping areas free of waste, fur/dust/hair/debris, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials to maintain a presentable atmosphere at all times
- Complete daily cleaning duties assigned to you by management
- Assist other colleagues in Daycare or in training sessions when needed
- Help to sell our services by communicating with clients what the next steps are for their dog after a program is complete
- Speak kindly to dogs and teammates

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
