The **Operations Analyst** uses skills as a seasoned and experienced administrative operations professional to manage, plan and administer the operations including human resources, clinical, finance, education, facilities and technology of the Hematology-Oncology Division at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) Hospital. - and long-term planning for the division The incumbent must demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- As part of the administrative core, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the division including onboarding and off-boarding of faculty, staff and trainees, compliance with UCSF and SFDPH rules and regulations, procurement, facilitates and IT management, engagement and communications as well as collaborating with Office of Sponsored Research, Research Finance, HR and IT Departments.For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
**Department Description**
- The UCSF Department of Medicine is the largest department at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) Hospital and the second largest department in the School of Medicine (second only to Medicine-Parnassus). The Department is divided into 15 Divisions/Centers plus Central Administration and operates 33 outpatient clinics, 4 inpatient services, and 14 consult services. The total annual budget is over $130 million, which provides salary support for the following full time equivalents: 200 academics, 44 clinical fellows, 20 staff physician, and 350 staff employees.
- Housed in the Department of Medicine, the Hematology-Oncology Division at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital is dedicated to excellence in learning, teaching, research and providing comprehensive, compassionate care to all patients with cancer and blood disorders. The division’s activities include providing specialty care to patients in the clinic and on the inpatient medical wards, clinical and policy research on vulnerable populations, and clinical & multi-disciplinary teaching of medical students, residents, fellows and visiting scholars. The division is funded by several mechanisms including federal, state, city, private and industry and has an operating budget of over $8 million.

**Required Qualifications**
- BA/BS degree with a major in a related field and two years of experience in administrative analysis or operations management; administration, business or related field; and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
- Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to operate effectively in a changing organizational and technological environment
- Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
