**GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION**
This is a varied and highly responsible position playing a pivotal role in fostering a positive and
productive work environment by managing relationships between employees and employer. Acts
as a mediator, advocate, and advisor, ensuring fair treatment and resolving conflicts to maintain a
harmonious workplace culture. Responsibilities encompass handling grievances, providing
guidance on employment policies and procedures, promoting open communication between all
stakeholders, and implementation of city-wide training programs.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts and disputes between employees, managers, and other
stakeholders, aiming for mutually beneficial resolutions while upholding company policies and
legal regulations.

2. Policy Development and Implementation: Collaborate with HR and management teams to
develop, revise, and implement employee relations policies and procedures to ensure compliance
with labor laws and organizational objectives.

3. Employee Advocacy: Serve as a trusted resource for employees, offering guidance and support
on workplace issues, grievances, disciplinary actions, and other concerns in a confidential and
empathetic manner.

4. Investigations: Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints,
allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, or other violations of company policies,
maintaining objectivity and confidentiality throughout the process.

5. Performance Management: Assist in managing performance-related matters, including
performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and terminations, while ensuring fairness,
consistency, and adherence to legal requirements.

6. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs including but not limited to
conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, effective communication, respectful workplace
behavior, harassment, leadership, etc.

7. Employee Engagement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance employee satisfaction,
morale, and retention through feedback mechanisms, recognition programs, exit interviews, new
hire orientation, and initiatives that promote a positive work environment.

8. Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends,
providing guidance and recommendations to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks related to
employee relations matters.

9. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases,
investigations, and outcomes, preparing reports and analysis as needed to track trends, identify
areas for improvement, and support decision-making processes.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,
and/or ability required.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree
or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

Proven experience (5 years) in employee relations, HR, or related role, with a solid understanding
of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.

**REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

**PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
This position will directly supervise 0 employees.

If applicable, supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees;
planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining
employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
