**Job Description: Network Technician (Eng. Tech III)**
- **Location**: Armstrong Flight Research Center, Edwards, CA
- **Position**: Engineering Technician III
- **Compensation: $24.17/hour + $4.57 / hour provided towards the procurement of health benefits.

***Overview**:
***Key Responsibilities**:

- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including switches and routers.
- Pull and manage network cables in network closets within buildings.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and problem resolution for network-related issues.
- Configure and support network management tools.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth network operations.
- Assist in the implementation of network security measures.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.

***Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or other Network certification is a preferred requirement
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with fiber channel technology.
- Identifying, diagnosing and resolving technical problems related to VoIP or network failure/integrity and usage of PC hardware and software.
- Ability to work in a data center environment, including physical tasks such as pulling cables.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance (this is NOT a security clearance but a more detailed background check)

***Working Conditions**:

- Work is primarily performed in a data center environment.
- Physical requirements include lifting and installing network equipment, pulling cables, and working in network closets.
