**Job Overview**:
Asahi Intecc USA, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Associate/Paralegal to join our legal team. This job is an associate who manage and drafts/review contracts, and support any other legal administrative issues under the supervision of the senior level managers. Bilingual in Japanese (preferred).

**Essential Job Functions**

[Legal Support]
- Handling a variety of legal issues under the supervision of senior-level managers, depends on the nature of the issues
- Drafting or reviewing of standard contracts (e.g., NDA, Sales Agreement, Distributorship Agreement, and any other agreements), memorandum, letters, and any other legal documents, incl. proofreading and correction
- Performing legal research and presentation
- Preparing shareholder/directors meetings and/or filing compliance report
- Compliance training and corporate governance
- Support of commutation regarding legal issues with management level and headquarter, and preparing and attending at several legal/business meetings related to the legal issues

[Legal Administration]
- Records management and document retention for legal documents (including organize and maintain documents in a paper or an electronic filing system, and contract lifetime management)
- Communication, including E-mail and/or answering phones and taking messages, and any other communications with outside professionals (mainly law firms)
- Litigation schedule management
- Translates any legal documents, including contracts, litigation documents, research papers and meeting minutes, into Japanese
- Organize and attend legal meetings and take the minutes (with/without outside professionals)
- Perform general office support for legal department including any miscellaneous clerical duties
- Any other duties or task required by supervisors

**Expected Hours of Work**:

- Full time/Regular 8 hour days with possible overtime (Flex-time available)
- Hybrid (remote/on-site) but need to come to the Irvine office 2-3 days per week at least

**The Skills/Experience Needed for the Role**
- Minimum of five to five-seven (5-7) years of relevant legal work in commercial company or law firms
- Law relevant degrees (JD, LLM, LLB) or paralegal certificate
- Ability to effectively collaborate and demonstrate broad business and sound legal judgment
- Exceptional oral, written and presentation communication skills, ideally with experience in a multicultural environment
- Native or professionally fluent English skills (writing, reading, listening and speaking)

**Preferred Requirement**
- Licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction (US and/or worldwide)
- Legal related certificate
- Working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, guidance and industry codes related to the medical/pharmaceutical industry
- Prior experience working for a medical device, medical equipment, or a pharmaceutical company at a law firm and/or as an in-house legal department staff within the company
- English/Japanese Multilingual (preferred, not necessary)

**Salary Range**

$74,000/yr. - $90,000/yr. (from job description)

Pay: $74,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
