Description:
This position is responsible for the systematic control, organization, and optimization of spare parts, consumables, and materials essential for maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. Effective company-wide inventory management is an important aspect of maintenance operations that ensures that the right parts and materials are available at the right time to keep machinery, equipment, and facilities in optimal working order.

**Technical inventories including spare parts, tools, capital equipment, etc.**

Implements and maintains a well-organized inventory system to quickly locate the right parts, tools, and materials for repairs and preventive maintenance tasks. This efficiency translates to faster turnaround times and improved equipment availability.

Responsible for coordinating technical Inventory company-wide to help prevent unplanned downtime by ensuring that critical spare parts are on hand when needed. This reduces the impact of unexpected equipment failures on production and services.

**Cost Control**

Must manage technical inventory both locally and system-wide at the ideal level to prevent overstocking and understocking, thus optimizing working capital throughout the enterprise. This leads to cost savings by reducing carrying costs and avoiding expensive emergency orders.

**Purchasing**

Identifies opportunities to efficiently purchase technical equipment, tools, and other items. Stays up to date with the latest technical developments.

Formulates cost-effective purchasing strategies for the company and is an effective negotiator with an analytical approach.

Oversees supplier-related activities, paying attention to their performance and ensuring they meet compliance.

If issues arise, they coordinate with companies to resolve them, negotiate with suppliers to determine preferable contract terms, or secure a better price. They provide detailed reports on performance.

Manages and develops relationships with suppliers and clients and ensure the quality of the goods and delivery, and the terms of contracts are met.

**Other duties**:

- Develop and implement cost savings projects and forecasting.
- Lead cyclical sourcing events, as well as mid-contract negotiations, as needed.
- Provide vendor and Subcontract sourcing and pricing for
- Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), as requested.
- Oversight of utility bill processing, for purposes of identifying opportunities to reduce costs.
- Maintain positive customer and vendor relationships.
- Support in developing and delivering against the long-term procurement strategy.
- Communicate with suppliers to address and improve performance concerns.
- Analyze information to assess root cause, improvement opportunities, and associated risk.
- Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives
- Prepare or review bid forms
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement efforts to improve cost of goods.
- Consult with internal customers to resolve supplier performance issues.
- Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
- Manage relationships with key large technical suppliers
- Develop policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- A 4-year college degree; a technical degree is strongly preferred
- An MBA or similar degree is desired
- Experienced with enterprise resource planning programs and tools.
- Comfortable with manage RFI/RFP processes.
- Budget planning experience.
- Familiarity with common procurement systems.
- Able to oversee negotiations.
