**Heavy Haul Dispatcher Roles & Responsibilities**

**1. Planning and Scheduling**:

- Coordinate and plan routes for heavy haul shipments.
- Schedule pickup and delivery times to ensure timely delivery.

**2. Communication**:

- Act as a liaison between drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide real-time updates to customers on the status of their shipments.

**3. Documentation**:

- Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including permits and customs paperwork.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations.

**4. Compliance**:

- Ensure all shipments comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Keep updated on any changes in transportation laws and regulations.

**5. Problem-Solving**:

- Address and resolve any issues that arise during transportation, such as delays or equipment failures.
- Implement contingency plans as necessary.

**6. Safety**:

- Monitor driver compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure that all equipment and loads meet safety standards.

**7. Tracking**:

- Utilize O2 Heavy App, GPS and other tracking technologies to monitor shipments.
- Provide updates and ensure timely delivery.

**8. Coordination**:

- Work with other departments (e.g., maintenance, customer service) to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with shippers and receivers to streamline processes.

**Heavy Haul Sales Roles & Responsibilities**

**1. Business Development**:

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Develop relationships with potential clients in need of heavy haul services.

**2. Sales Strategy**:

- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to refine sales approaches.

**3. Customer Relationship Management**:

- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues.

**4. Quotations and Proposals**:

- Prepare and present detailed quotations and proposals to clients.
- Negotiate terms and conditions to close deals.

**5. Market Research**:

- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments.

**6. Reporting**:

- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts.
- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement.

**7. Collaboration**:

- Work closely with the operations team to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed solutions.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to align sales and marketing strategies.

**8. Training and Development**:

- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry knowledge.
- Develop sales skills and techniques to improve performance.

**What education do you need to become a truck dispatcher?**

A high school diploma or GED is enough to get a job as a truck dispatcher. Classes in math, English and business provide students with the communication, organization and accounting skills needed to handle truck dispatcher duties.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
