**Overview**
J.McLaughlin is a specialty American Sportswear and Accessories brand headquartered in New York. J.McLaughlin has the reputation for being “local and loyal”, building meaningful relationships within the each community and providing customers with highly personalized service. We are looking for an experienced Sales Audit Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team.
**About the role**
**Essential Functions**:
- Reconcile daily POS sales/returns transactions in Aptos (Epicor) for both stores and the company’s website.
- Verify transactions from various processors (Adyen, AMEX, Shopify, etc.) to the sales records in Aptos.
- Post all monthly retail sales related activity to the General Ledger (Great Plains).
- Post and reconcile all credit card and cash receipts to the General Ledger.
- Manage cash receipts from stores to company’s bank accounts.
- Upload and manage Sales Tax data to Avalara system for monthly tax filings.
- File and submit evidence for chargeback claims.
- Participate in systems upgrades and platform changes related to POS activity.
- Manage store business licenses and personal property tax filings.
- Work with all external and internal auditors.
- Ad Hoc reporting and projects as needed.
**What we are looking for**
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of Sales Audit experience in a retail setting.
- Prior experience utilizing Aptos (Epicor) system is a plus.
- Possess the ability to troubleshoot issues in a changing, fast paced, time sensitive environment.
- Able to learn new systems within a short period of time.
- Have advanced skills in utilizing Excel.
- Capable of working on tasks alone and within a group.
- Ability to work on a hybrid basis from our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office.
