Oral Surgical Assistant

Responsibilities:

- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques throughout the surgical procedure
- Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Monitor vital signs of patients during surgery and report any abnormalities to the surgical team
- Assist with patient assessment, including obtaining medical history and performing physical examinations
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care
- Handle and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage
- Document patient information, surgical procedures, and outcomes accurately in electronic medical records systems such as Epic

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment used in surgical procedures
- Proficient in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during surgery
- Familiarity with dental procedures and terminology is a plus (e.g., Dentrix, dental receptionist experience)
- Ability to assist with surgeries across various specialties, including pediatrics
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
