**Position Summary and Overview**

The Churchill School & Center, a K-12 school for students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking an upper school assistant English teacher for the 2024-25 academic year.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Demonstrate commitment to Churchill’s mission and core values
- Embrace and model Churchill’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Plan curriculum, lessons, and assignments/projects that reflect a diversity of voices and points of view
- Collaborate with co-teacher
- Develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and tools for students to become independent, college-bound learners
- Break down/scaffold of in-class assignments and projects
- Grade student work and participation
- Track students’ work and progress
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students
- Communicate with Student families as needed
- Attend relevant staff meetings as required
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- BA or BS Degree in English, English Education, Special Education or related field
- Knowledge of, or willingness to continue higher levels of education to obtain knowledge of effective service strategies and methodologies for working with children with language-based learning disabilities -Familiarity with Smartboards, Google Drive, and technology
- Interest in professional career development in the field of special education
- Patience, flexibility, good organization skills, and a sense of humor

**Compensation**
- $45,000 - $53,000 commensurate with experience
