HEARTLY HOUSE, INC.

The mission of Heartly House is to end intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse and to provide victims with safety, shelter, and supportive services. Our legal services’ victim advocates are trauma-informed, compassionate, and skilled professionals who accompany victims in criminal matters and help clients navigate the legal system with accompaniment during protective order hearings. Note: this is not a remote position.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform legal intakes and provide appropriate referral information for furtherservices
- Assist clients with completing petitions for protective orders and criminal charging documents (commissioner/State’s Attorney/Police)
- Liaison and provide information to clients regarding court system, hospital, courthouse, and police procedures
- Obtain/Develop/Utilize necessary skills to provide high quality/trauma-informed advocacy services for victims
- Monitor deadlines and calendars for their clients’ court appointments and appearances - Assist Legal Services Director with grants reporting activities - appropriately track daily service activities - Adhere to Heartly House philosophy, policies, and procedures
- Participate and complete required Heartly House trainings - Maintain client and Heartly House confidentiality
- Attend staff and team meetings (in person) - Other duties as assigned by the Director of Legal Services QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to provide direct services to victims of Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Assault, and Human Trafficking
- Impeccable task management and organizational skills - Cultural competency in working with a diverse client and staff population
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated competence in computer software (Microsoft Office Programs) with a keen ability to learn new data systems
- Reliable transportation
- Spanish-speaking preferred

Pay: $50,000.00 - $51,500.00 per year
