**About the Role**:
**Role and Responsibilities**:
- Greeting and directing all patients within the practice.
- Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone.
- Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions.
- Accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information at each visit.
- Verify patient insurance authorizations / PCP referrals have been acquired.
- Process incoming / outgoing faxes and medical record requests.
- Assist with billing claims
- Checking patients in/out
- Quickly answer or properly refer questions and issues.
- Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
- Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including insurance cards, picture ids and medical records.
- Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records.
- Obtaining patient authorization for medical records.
- Notifying providers of patient arrivals
- Schedules any necessary appointments after completion of patient visit.
- Complete appointment confirmation calls for unconfirmed patients.
- Collect copays and past due balances on patient accounts.
- Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claim
**Assist with maintaining office cleanliness.**
- Call and reschedule cancellations and no-shows (after collection no-show fee)
- Other duties as assigned.
**Education & Experience**
- Minimum of a High School diploma.
- At least one year of relevant experience and/or training.
- EMR experience is required, and Modernized Medicine (EMA) is preferred.
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.
- Able to work collectively with administration and staff.
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Preferred Experience**:
- Customer service: 2 years (preferred)
- Medical office: 2 years (preferred)
- Computer skills: 2 years
- Billing experiance
